He is sometimes associated with the fathers of enlightenment. He is known for his works with heat and motion. One of the earliest quotes on that topic is Bacon’s: “Heat itself, its essence and quiddity, is motion and nothing else.” This attributed to the Kinetic Theory. He impacted Atomic Theory because he started the connection between motion and heat that helps us understand atoms, what they make up, and how they work. He also wrote an essay titled “Of Atheism”. This was about how you could either believe in God or atoms, but not both.
